The Next New Thing

I grew up in the 90's and was always watching T.V shows on Nickelodeon. Many of them included: "Doug", "Hey Arnold", "Kenan and Kel" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch". It is very challenging to think and come up with innovative products or ideas that do not exist in today's tech-savvy era. However, what if we were able to use teleportation? Like Sabrina the teenage witch used to do  by simply stepping into her closet and "boom" she would instantly be at another place. Teleportation has not been yet implemented or tested, however i would not be surprised to see it in future years. It would be brilliant and extremely cool if we were able to use teleportation.

  1. Being able to teleport like like they did in Sabrina the teenage witch would be incredible. Especially if it became something that you could do almost anywhere at any give time. You wouldn't have to worry about driving or waiting for a cab after a long night drinking. Traveling would be so much simpler with out all of the security and waiting around. But it also means cars and airplanes would not be necessary which would create a loss of jobs, and those industries might come to an end.

    1. I think whenever old jobs get eliminated, new jobs would establish. Yes, those industries would come to an end. Like you said people would lose jobs, however new jobs create to balance the technology. For instance new job positions for security guards, teleport controlers, traffic controllers and more.

  2. Teleportation sounds like a great idea and all, but if it were to happen (which I doubt) I think it would be more appropriate to classify it as the next big new thing in science rather than new media. Of course it would change the way we communicate, collaborate, and converge, but scientists have been studying the potential for this for years now - if it were to ever happen it would be a huge scientific breakthrough. But if we have issues with privacy with social media, just imagine the privacy issues that would arise if people were capable of teleportation!

  3. I loved some of those shows growing up, but I have to agree with Mark. I believe that this will be more about science and technology than new media. That would probably more about molecules, and time traveling.

  4. Omg this was my very show and that would be really cool if we could use but I do agree teleportation seems a little complicated to create.

  5. This is probably the most creative post I've read. I loved these shows growing up, assuming most of us are 80's/90's babies. This definitely could be an example of new media if it were used in order to create an online community, would it not? If it was used to warp us into a social setting with others, I think that this could be an example of new media. Of course it would be a huge breakthrough in science, but so was the computer. In context, this could be a huge breakthrough in new media as well.

  6. i guess its gonne come true some day. There are different things people wanna do and they think they cannot ; someone else comes with an idea to fulfill dreams. Like leonardo da Vinchi did not know if the Wright brothers would actually come up with the flying machine when he was painting that picture.
